University Courses - Timetable

Start any of the following university degree programs at VIU's Cowichan campus. Some programs may need to be completed at the Nanaimo campus.

Arts One - First Nations

1-year University Certificate program

Enrolment in FNAT 101, 102 and 6 credits of University English as part of a full-time program qualifying students for the Arts One First Nations certificate and constitutes year one of the BA program. This program is intended for students interested in the intersection and interaction between First Nations and Western cultures.

Associate of Arts

2-year Degree program

Recognizes successful completion of two years of academic studies in a range of Arts subjects.

Bachelor of Arts

4-year Degree program

Up to first two years available at Cowichan campus and selected 3rd year courses. Vancouver Island University has always offered a full two years of a Bachelor of Arts program in a broad variety of academic disciplines. You can complete your B.A. degree at the Nanaimo campus, or transfer to the University of Victoria, University of British Columbia or Simon Fraser University. In addition, you can transfer your course credits to most other Canadian universities.

Criminology Diploma and Degree

2-year Diploma, 4-year Degree program
Diploma available at Cowichan campus, laddering into 3rd year Degree at Nanaimo campus. Prepares students for a variety of careers in law enforcement, criminal justice and government.
