Still in high school?

Are you interested taking a first year course at VIU?

Or starting a Trade?

In partnership with your School District, our Dual Credit program can give you the chance to be VIU student while still in high school.

Take a few university courses - get dual credits!

Get your certification in a Trades Foundation Level 1 program or a Health Sciences and Human Services certificate program-get dual credits!

What does dual credit mean?

It means credits you earn in a VIU course go directly toward your high school and VIU transcripts.

Next Steps

  • Contact Career Education SD 79 find out if SD 79 will pay for your course or program in 2023-24
  • If the answer is "Yes!"
  • Talk to your parents
  • Meet with your high school Counsellor to plan your course selection for Grade 10, Grade 11 and Grade 12 - planning will ensure that you meet any course prerequisites (English, Science and Math) needed to take a VIU course
  • With your high school Counsellor go over Dual Credit info for high schools
